This Autumn, Together We Create teamed up with Origin Housing and Holborn Community Association (HCA) to deliver a six week photography masterclass for young people living in Somers Town, just behind St Pancras Station in Central London.
Across the six week project, young people from the area learnt everything from basic photographic techniques through to advanced digital editing using Adobe photoshop. By the end of the project the children produced over 20 stunning photos which they displayed at a special arts preview at the end of project in November.
The sessions were lead by Lesley from HCA. With years of experience in working with young people. Lesley was really thrilled at the chance to work with young people from Somers Town. ‘These children show such talent and creativity’, she remarked.
Our very own Ursula, one of the Together We Create freelancers, supported Lesley in the workshop sessions. Ursula said,’”This has been a really fab project. The kids are great. The location (where the project was run- Basil Jelico Hall) was great. Working alongside another experienced workshop leader was great. Sign me up for the next course!”
The project was funded by BBC Children in Need with support from Origin Housing.
