Love Parks? Spend a few hours volunteering at Inwood Park’s film screening

On Saturday 2nd August the ‘Friends of Inwood Park’ group in partnership with ‘Together We Create’ and ‘Pro Polonia’ (a Polish Parents community group) will run the ‘Our Park Presents’ Hounslow’s Community Outreach Film Project 2014. The event is supported by the Carillion events team and sponsored by the Council and Film London.

The event starts at 5pm and the programme for the afternoon/evening has a lot on offer: a “Canvas Youth Centre” – a Youth Service/Together We Create marquee/tent featuring: screening of Inwood Park young people’s film; Information about the Youth Service, what’s going on this summer and support for young people; Opportunities for young people to learn about the Youth Centre, Youth Council; Libraries Tent: story time in English and Polish language, mask making, arts and crafts, face
painting, games; Crafts for under 5s (lead by Pro Polonia and the Library services); Sports Zone with support from London Eagles; Edible Maze and community artist activities with Sophie Rigg; Local social enterprise, The Bridge, will sell food in the Park Café; guest performers

From 8:30pm animation films created by Kingsley Academy with Together We Create will be screened before the main film. At 9pm a free screening of the film Up is presented.

There are a few ways you can be involved – you can run an interactive, fun stall or marquee and promote your organisation and service while connecting with hundreds of locals. Or your staff or service users might like to be volunteers on the day – lots of opportunities to make your skills and interest and flexible in time too.
